DR DANIEL UEBELHART'S CV
Dr Uebelhart has been medical director and head physician of the rehabilitation of the locomotor system since 1 November 2010 as well as of the oncological rehabilitation service at Clinique Valmont. Dr Uebelhart is a permanent member of the European Board of MPR as well as an FMH in Physical Medicine and of Rehabilitation and Rheumatology. He is also the holder of a Diploma in Aerospace Medicine which has allowed him to be linked to several Franco-Russian projects on spatial medicine. His post-graduate training in MPR, rheumatology and biochemistry was principally undergone in Geneva, Lyon and Chicago where he has been assistant professor. Between October 1999 and October 2010, Dr Uebelhart was Medical Director of the IPM at the Rheumaklink und IPM at the University Hospital of Zurich, responsible physician at the Osteoporosis Centre of the USZ as well as of the Unit of Clinical Trials at the Rheumaklinik.
Already a private lecturer at the faculty of medicine at the University of Geneva, Dr Uebelhart has also received the Venia Legendi for the MPR and Rheumatology from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zurich. His clinical research work focuses on arthritis, osteoporosis, microgravity and human adaptation to space as well as the study of the consequences of immobilisation to the connective support tissues used as a basis for validating existing strategies or developing these in MPR. The most fundamental work is devoted to the degradation products of the connective tissues, collagens and proteoglycanes with a particular interest to their use as biochemical metabolic markers.
